Having been involved in art most of my life, I began in oils, showing and selling my work at summer art fairs and galleries in Michigan.  After our four sons were grown and off to college I attempted watercolor.  I fell in love with the transparency and challenges of watercolor and since have devoted all my creative energies to that medium.

I credit two Wisconsin instructors, Karlyn Holman and Bridget Austin for having the most influence on my work.  Also I have had the good fortune to study with other well-known artists and have an extensive library of books, tapes and DVD’s.

My subjects are many and varied – landscapes, florals, architecture, portraits and most recently, abstracts.  I find the need to challenge myself with variety. At times I will combine pen and ink with watercolor, especially with architectural subjects.

Primarily a studio painter working from field sketches and photographs, I also love Plein Air Painting and belong to groups in Florida as well as in Wisconsin who share this love. I have traveled the U.S., Canada and Europe sketching, painting and photographing my subjects. Winning honors and awards over the years and having had several one woman shows, my oil and watercolor paintings are included in corporate and private collections in the United States and Europe.

My goal as an artist is to always grow, be adventuresome, enjoy the process and expand my knowledge of this wonderful and elusive world of watercolor.

My husband and I spend our winters on Florida’s Gulf Coast and summers in Northern Wisconsin.  Both are wonderful and inspiring places to be.
